Hamilton's Last Season

When Hamilton was at his best politically, he was at his worst in relation to Jesus. He entered into a sordid affair with a married woman named Mariah Reynolds. Even as late as the spring of 1802, he wrote a letter to fellow Federalist James Bayard proposing what he called a Christian constitutional society. It may also be one last gasp of his 1790s opportunism.
