The Convergence of EA and Long-Termism
More people will be alive in the future than have ever been alive now. We have an obligation to ensure that what we do today causes we support today money and resources we allocate today goes towards ensuring that one there's many people as possible in the future. I don't think EA and long-termism are going anywhere. There's so much money involved but it's also a small enough slice that it's not really an easy lever to shut off. The ideological thing is the thing to be waged war on, he says.
