Most people who instinctively lean in this direction are not doing so in ways that involve the rejection of biblical teaching concerning monotheism, except by way of implication. The sort of naive social trinitarianism may indeed be more benign than many supposed orthodox challenges to it. What it's doing is taking some important aspect of the biblical teaching and insisting on giving it its weight. They are often doing this against people who have a naive understanding of orthodoxy or at least their own naive impression about what orthodoxy would entail.
