The Cherry Tradition of Marriage
Peasants married often in their late teens or early twenties, nobles married in their earlier teens. peasants could be teenagers who were serving in somebody's house and they could just keep working and save up money because there was no time limit on it. They didn't have to get married right away because there were no things like big lands that were involved. So you could marry someone for love. In fact, one of the pasten girls did this. And it was to somebody who was below her station. The churchmen tried to annul it. But they couldn't because once you've said the words, you are married.
