The History of the Constitution
I've read some of this stuff. It's horrifying. No, people couldn't get away with saying those things today. If you really care about the founding period is why is it that almost nothing was said about parties? You go through the Constitution and not find a reference. The Federalist wasn't a book as it was originally conceived. We're probably going to have one chance to offer one more answer to the question, how do we govern ourselves before it all falls apart?
