The Dark Underbelly of Cities

I missed the variety, and I found the predictability of them really suffocating after a while. In those smaller communities, you just see the same people all the time. You can't slip into anonymity really ever. And I've come to rely on being able to do that because of the big city experience. But yeah, I love escaping the city as well. All cities are like hotbeds in equality and certain kinds of violence with complex systems rubbing up against one another. When you're visiting, you can pretend it's not happening - which is what we do when we're tourists,. We visit, we reap the best of something and we try not to look at the darker parts
