Last year, what the world wanted to pay for nature to absorb one ton of carbon was around five dollars. The president of the democratic republic of congo said to be fair and realistic, it would need to be more like a hundred dollars. Climate voneba, loping countries, mostly members of the vtenni, do not have access to carbon markets. Tracking a trade in carbon assets is not straightforward. Rich countries have extensive records and experts about their lands stretching back decades. There's less of that in the developing world.
