Miss Reed was a best-selling author who made the real idea of an English village school as a sane and safe haven for those who were growing up after World War II. These books appeared almost annually for four decades from the mid-fifties so you can know that there are a lot of misread books she was so just gifted at describing really simply the joys of the countryside. The last series that i would recommend is thresh green and I think that you might really enjoy misread books if you only read one or two, he says.
