Tim has had to adjust his class schedule significantly, dropping his two hardest classes and replacing them with less rigorous ones. Now there is very little chance that he's going to finish that associates degree by this time next year as he had hoped. He asked if he ever wishes he had gone right to college after high school, as so many of his friends did.
