Are You a Christian? Or a Theist?
I think maybe the disagreement is that for me without the maybe some of what you would call abstract truth claims of Jesus spiritual formation is a useless conversation. Most of the human population over time has been profoundly formed by their religious beliefs and practices. If I weren't a Christian, on the days I don't feel like a Christian, I'm a theist. I'm a Karen Armstrong style theist. Thumbs out there. God's out some kind of thing.
