The Importance of Volatility Compression in Trading

Bollinger Bands can be used for trend identification, but also for capturing volatility compression. When a Bollinger band expands, when price pushes those bands to wider levels, we know that significant activity has occurred. Volume is going to tell us whether the market is participating and volatility is going to highlight areas where you've got that tug of war between buyers and sellers.
