The Importance of Atonement

In Leviticus God engages with the smell unlike most of the other gods where sacrifices were the literal food for the gods. Atonement happens when your sacrifice has been lifted up onto the altar and you're smelling it too, because you're there. As you smell this, God is we're good. It's a good smell to God. Right? That's what we just heard. So yeah, so what's happening here is like the community is also being invited to participate. And depending on what kind of offerings are being brought that day, they'll get into peace offering next week.
