In doing that, specifically, where i began to thrive as a leader. Despite the fact of being the captain of every team i had ever played on. To be able to seek to understand, to listen and, in many cases, to refrain from offering ideas or direction,. unless i was it was clear to me that that's the person wanted. And this, this awareness of the of ampathy early in my journey, and later, as i matured and developed that skill, it was a force multiplier. Things like connection, things like trust, things like a the ability to help some one by just listening rather than prescribing - those were put on display as huge levers against mortoxic behaviours.
