Zuko has to sort of craft his own story about himself and tell that to himself in order for his arc to happen. Our stories are our armor but sometimes the we bring armor that is also poison which infects perception. If you never see yourself or a good version of yourself reflected you're going to start acting out that reflection, she says. Zuko's walking around with just the first two chapters of his life living that out over and over again he's never heard the rest of his story.
