you're right that we don't know much about his early life. We know that he was, we think we know that he was born in arkham, and that he must have entered the franciscan order at an early age, a 12 to 14 years old. And so he would have been a sent up to oxford am, you know, at a fairly early stage, because it really covered what what you call grammar school, we call high school, as well as a university education, a college education. In those days, he was a he lectured on the sentences between 13 a, 17 and 13 19. And during that period he was a ordained deacon in a southark cathedral, which was then in the diocese of winchester, it seems. And a, he was licensed to hear confessions, as the friors would have been licensed to do at that time. So he lectured the sentences during that time. And then at that point, a, he became a bachelor, he got his bachelor's degree. And then he went to a london study house, probably, where he taught philosophy and wrote a number of works on logic and physics while he was waiting in the cue to take up a position as regent master. That was how you got your m a, by by being a teacherof doing a full stint of teaching at the university. But the friars were allowed only one chair each, and so he had to stand in the cue. And john litterell was not very much in favour of okam. And there were others in the cue. So okam waited. And so he waited until thir 24, when other events took their course.
