In 19 33, president franklin d. Roosevelt was facing the worst economic crisis in american history. He knew he needed to act fast to address all these lems. The whole package of things that we now think of as the welfare state were put together between 34 and 35. It would have social security, un employment compensation, a aid to families dependent children later known as welfare.
