The negative criteria that would lend support to the idea that a reported revelation was not from God were a manifest error concerning the event, b, doctrinal errors attributed to God himself or to the blessed Virgin Mary and some saint in their manifestations. And c, evidence of a search for profit, or gain strictly connected to the event,. d, gravely immoral acts committed by the subject or his or her followers when the event occurred; e, psychological disorder or psychopathic tendencies in the subject with certainty influenced on the presumed supernatural event.
