Malek's Badlands
Badlands is Malek's 1973 debut and stars Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek. The film was inspired by a real life a spree killing case the the stark weather fugate case I believe. There's frequent use of floral patterns fish bowls bird cage imagery peacock feathers in Badlands. When one looks at the psychology of Kit and Holly, it's clear that there's a heavy element of disassociation to the film sort of kind of hypnotism or sort of fairy tale dream quality.
