i spoke to colin campbell, senior architect for o b m in Bermuda. The first european settlers arrived on this beautiful island back in the 16 hundreds. A lot f their early buildings were wood framed and opped off with roofs made of thatched grass. For almost a hundred years, people did a stick and frame construction. And then after a couple of hurricanes in 17 12, 17 14, a light bulb went on, an thing left standi are stone buildings.
