185 – The Rise and Fall of Peer Review, with Adam Mastroianni
The Bayesian Conspiracy
The Cost of Reviewing Papers
It takes a while for papers to get through the review system too you said. The paper is hugely by field and by journal but it's not crazy for a paper to come out one or two years after it's originally submitted at least for some journals in some fields. At my institution the professors make easily three times what I do so call it somewhere between one and five billion depending on the ratio of which we have post doc professors. However you slice it this is a lot of resources put into this system which is all fine like it's fine to spend resources on a system if we get good things out of it.
