The History of Homeschooling in Massachusetts

Homeschooling was not legally recognized until the early to mid 1990s that homeschooling became legally recognized in all 50 states. John Holt discovered these families and was just intrigued by this new model he created the first newsletter for homeschooling families growing without schooling. Now you find that with this 1.7 million homeschoolers it's very demographically diverse much more reflective of the overall American population. And so I'll pick up actually where we left off with 1852 where the Massachusetts passes the first compulsory schooling statute.
