Introduction
Dr. Emma Hunter is a historian of Africa and focuses primarily on African intellectual history and political thought at the 20th century. She obtained her doctorate here at Cambridge and has since returned as this year's Quentin Skinner Fellow in intellectual history at Crash. Her monograph, political thought, and the public sphere in Tanzania, freedom, democracy and citizenship in the era of decolonization, won the Royal Historical Society's Gladstone Prize in 2016.
