Fitch has placed the United States AAA rating on Watch Negative. The agency says political partisanship is hindering a resolution to raise or suspend the debt limit despite that fast approaching x-state. That's the date by which the Treasury exhausts its cash position and capacity to service its debt. NBC News has reached out to the White House for comment.
