Socrates says that once you taste a certain piece of human flesh, you become a wolf. Andthat eventually we descend into this amazing, like proto macbeth thing where you have to purge all your enemies. So he's talking, he makes a distinction between a necessay and unnecessary pleasures and desires. In some human beings are entirely gotten rid of, or of only a few weak ones are left. While in others, stronger and more numerous ones remain. The stronger ones are the oes that wake up in sleep, when the rest of the soul slumbers. This is an indicator that deep down within us there is still this many headed beast kind of thrashing about.
