In june 17 93, the central revolutionary government in paris had now been winnowed down to a handful of zealous jacobins. Robespierre and the other delegates of the mountain may have been the beneficiaries of the purge of the girondins, but they had exactly zero love for the enrage who the mountain thought little better than rabid anarchists. So on the same day that the Girondins were purged, that is june second, 1793, the convention voted to spend every day working on a new constitution for france. One that would be full of red meat for te ncu lot and hopefully undercut the position of the enrage agitators
