Do We Need More Government Regulation Today Than We Did a Hundred Years Ago?
Before the Great Depression, Americans shopped around before they deposited money in a bank because they only wanted to deposit money in banks that had good reputations. Today, no bank is punished for taking a lot of risk because the government is subsidizing those risks and telling all depositors, it doesn't matter where you put your money. Most people do more research into which TV is said to buy than they do about which bank to use. All they care about are what the fees are. No one gives a damn about how safe the bank is. We don't need more government. We need lessGovernment. We need sound money.
