The Immigrant Mentality

The Nigerian academics that you met in the UK, you speak of them. And it seemed to me that there's something about, you know, people from Nigeria,. wherever the immigrants go, where their idea is don't lower standards for me. That seems to be a more mainstream attitude. This isn't also the immigrant mentality in general. I liked being surrounded by that because it's really peculiar how entrenched it has become in Black American discourse to say the standards should be changed. The rules have to be changed. Standards have to be lowered. How much can you expect from us given history? You and me saying that means that in some quarters we're considered clueless, heartless pigs. But
