The Importance of Putting Tubes in Children

The most important reason to consider placing tubes in children is signs of persistent eustachian tube dysfunction that may or may not be accompanied by a problem with recurrent acute otitis media. It's also a great pathway for children prone to continue getting acute or tight is media maybe because of their anatomy or their age and the things they're exposed to. There has been more talk in recent years about doing tubes on young children, but I don't know why that's coming back after we spend so many years trying to get people to take them.
