Development Led Archaeology - A New Approach to Exploring Landscapes

Change in the way that archaeological work in advance of development takes place has meant there is a lot more development led archaeology now done than 40 or 50 years ago. The driver for this has been very much development led Archaeology, where you really want to gather information on what might be there at a very early stage. But also as mechanized agriculture is gradually eating into the buried landscape and climate change is enhancing periods of drought, which is when these features first show.
