Are You Concerned About This Patient?
ambulance crews will be used to being asked, is this life threatening or life altering? And so now it's a bit more of a generic, are you concerned about this patient? Because it alters the police response and what they do with the scene. What can we do as medical providers to help that? Well, the patient's clothes and belongings are absolutely vital. We should try and prevent or at least discourage the patient from sort of cleaning their hands or removing blood because that can be swabbed for DNA. As responders, we should be making really comprehensive notes about these jobs and not just the medical care but things like comment from the patient, from bystanders and the thing which might be relevant
