The Power of Prayer

Nehemiah shows us that if we want to be decisive people of action it actually we have to begin with the thing that seems the most counterintuitive. I'm a man who would prefer to pray as I go. And what we see in this first chapter is before Nehemiah does anything he gets on his knees and he repents and he fasts and he intercedes on behalf of a rebellious people. It's a beautiful thing and I think there's much we can learn from it.
