The EU's Mid-Term Review of Its Budget for Ukraine
The 50 billion euros medium-term package for Ukraine will be based on the reconstruction plan which is to be prepared by Ukraine itself. It also will come with very strict audit mechanisms because it's important to ensure that money which we are providing to Ukraine is well spent. But in a way parallel it was an interesting quirk of timing. This conference is taking place just at the moment that the EU was looking or re-examining its long-term budget, its seven-year budget and that happened this week. The whole discussion about money for Ukraine fed into that discussion.
