How to Find the Primary Stress in Words

A primary stress is the most dominant syllable in a word. Every content word must have a primary stress and only one. A weak stress is a schwa, which technically means that if a syllable doesn't get a primary stress or a secondary stress, the vowel kind of disappears. And all you're left with is this small insignificant sound, the schwa.
