Sally Kohn: Most of what you talked about right now with strange rights and we'll get into self-made maybe in the second hour. How much of what you wrote about and self-made derived from what you studied and researched in anticipation of writing or while you were writing strange rights? She says she was one of those like theater kids who was really into Oscar Wilde. The questions of self-creation seemed even more pertinent to her than they did when she first started working on Strange Rights, which is a much more sociological book.Kohn: I think the self-creation now more than ever has been democratized and in being democratized has become a kind of obligation.
