Lincoln and Shields: A Peep Show Moment

Lincoln shows off his reach more than his swordsmanship, right? 100%. Yeah. So Lincoln says, watch, watch this man calm down. And he cuts down a tree branch above shields his head showing just how much of a height disparity there is and clearly establishing that things are not going to go well for shields if they do actually beef up. I'm sure he wasn't happy him seeming like a bit of a thin skin fellow. That's what I heard. This is so this to me, this moment is either very tense or it's weirdly off putting in awkwardlike it's a peep show moment where you learn the guy could have killed you in the duel instead.
