In 1970 Christopher Pyle who was a US Army military intelligence officer but and also like a Columbia law school grad I think it was Columbia law school. He started finding out about all these domestic spying programs that the US Army was conducting in the US that should have been illegal. In 1967 Ram Parts magazine Warren Hinkell's magazine did two sensational exposés on secret CIA programs where the CIA was running the National Students Association which back then in the Cold War era was this millions strong kind of international student association. And he went to work for Sam Ervin the Senator who later led the Watergate hearings to expose this.
