Sufism and the Conference of the Birds by Attar
The poem manages to capture some of the most profound ideas and concepts in Sufism through a narrative that is very engaging and beautifully written. Rumi was incredibly influenced by a thought and the conference of the birds and he probably used it as an inspiration for his own magnificent work called the mas-navi aside from Rumi many other later thinkers would often use much of the imagery that attar creates in this poem. A lot of the same style of expressing many of the Sufi ideas come from this poem originally even outside of a slalm and Sufism.
