And yet all those things in order to seem big or fast or loud, it has to be big or faster loud relative to some appropriately chosen frame of reference. That's the basic truth that I think no thoughtful person would think to question. You don't have to argue about whether people are feeling envious or not,. Even on a desert island where you're the only person. If you had a bigger house, that would feel good to you. What do people do when they get more money? They spend more.
