The Eucharist is not just eating and thinking about Jesus, it involves the this sort of ritual use of bread and wine in a symbolic manner. There is nothing spooky or metaphysical happening in the Eucharist, as far as I'm concerned. The bread and the wine do not get transformed into the body and blood. Rather, they come to take on the meaning of the body andBlood of Christ because they begin to be used as symbols.
