The Geopolitical Conditions for the Balkanization of Russia
Tatarstan is one of the most likely places in Russia to declare independence. The ethnic Russians are a distinct minority within this republic, which is majority Tatar. It's a very industrialized region where they'd be able to at least try to operate independently. Some people who would fit this mold that are openly calling for the Balkanization or even decolonizing of Russia.
