Sometimes the neuron doesn't want to excite it. So sometimes that neuron says, hey, don't send a signal. The question then is how does it inhibit a neuron from sending the signal? It will do whatever it can to make that next neuron become more negative, not more positive. That matter is how most nervous system drugs work. And so this phenomenon could be termed either hyperalgizia. So you actually just more sensitive to a noxious stimulus. Or it could be called allodenia,. which is something that shouldn't now cause, it's like something that's usually pleasant causes now something that's painful.
In this episode, Dr Matt and Dr Mike discuss how the nervous system allows us to walk, talk, smell, taste, hear, and feel!
This episode is about the electrical and chemical signals that the body sends called action potentials!
