The Dichotomy of a Combat Leader

Colonel Hackworth says he became too emotionally involved in Vietnam. He said, "I just have seen the American nation spend so much of its wonderful great young man in this country" The army started to investigate him immediately and they tried to get him in trouble for every little minor infraction that happened underneath his command. And he ended up retiring.
