The Cold War in the Eighties

There are not a lot of films with this kind of story telling in the 19 eighties. Why did that change? People cared a lot more about drug dealers and russians. I don't know, like it seems like the cold war. Weirdly, even though it was like some the cold war, in the eighties differenti in a different way than in the 50 sixties and seventies.
