The Inhibition of Experiential Learning
People were completely indoctrinated to believe that a 12 hour day is better than a six hour day. Fear of failure drives so much of the inhibiting mechanism of learning. We could learn far, far more from our own personal experience than we could from trolling the internet for the next best learning strategy. I think it's useful to have points of reference, and i think it's Useful to see what other people are doing. But ultimately, i think that es to be far more weight placed on the value of your own experience.
