Is the Balkans a Good Reference Point for Geopolitics?

After doing all these episodes on the Balkans, I think I really really like it. It's helping me to understand geopolitics better because this whole Balkans region over the last 40 years has encountered pretty much every trope that we've covered on this show. The lands that made up Yugoslavia going back thousands of years were part of the Roman Empire and Serbs and other Slavic tribes migrated into the Balkans around the sixth century or so. So Serbian historians at this time, they say that there is no Albanians living in Kosovo. And what Albanian historians say is that Albanians are the descendants of the ancient Illyrians of the region who are in Greek texts and whatnot.
