The Role of Bougies in Grade Four Views
Ruben and George agree that there is no role for bougies in patients with grade four views. In a grade four view, you see nothing. So attempting to advance a bougie or a stylated tube on agrade four view is a blind intubation. This should not be done because it is almost certain to fail.
