Four Reasons Why Psychological Science Might Be Helpful for Theologians
The John Templeton Foundation approached me and said why don't you put together some kind of a program in this area where you can help theologians get to know what psychological science is about. So part at the beginning of the primer of the book, you know, four reasons that it might be helpful for a theologian to be aware of the best available psychological science evidence. It's not uncommon to see theologians making claims, especially about human thought processes, emotions, desires, yearnings and so forth. And then take it for granted that they're intuitions on this or the writings of authoritative figures should be taken at face value.
