Wuthering Heights - A Novel With an Erotic Charge
I think there's a fascination with death in the Bronteys. We get seances and channeling of the dead, which we might also identify as a romantic tradition. I don't mean we're giving anything away in revealing that there are some passionate sex scenes in the film. It's not clear that this is based on anything in reality. Wuthering Heights is a novel with an erotic charge. Charlotte was apprehensive about this aspect of Emily’s writing - it also emerges in the movie.
