The story of why we have dogs starts tens of thousands of years ago. Dogs became domesticated or tame enough to live with humans and be our best animal friends. Humans realize that dogs could not just make their trash disappear, but do other useful things for us too. They did that by mating two dogs with traits, meaning behaviors or looks that they liked.
