The Nationalist Revolution of 1911
The arrival of global capitalism and the elaboration of a global capitalist system incorporated China as an absolutely necessary aspect of capitalist global relations. And that problem of China being one of many makes it clear to Chinese analysts of the time that the solutions to China's problems will have to be not only Chinese, but they will also have to be global. There is no solving the problem of imperialism and colonialism one country at a time. These are global issues. So that chapter is in the service of trying to argue that what happened in the typing moment was very important.
